And jolly it is!! I think this is going to be the best Christmas yet. (they just keep getting better and better the older the kids get). I’ll never forget the Christmas I think 4 years ago, Lili had just turned 5. She begged and begged and begged for the Bratz DVD and I told her no. And she was all upset because Santa doesn’t make DVDs, so there was no way Santa could bring her the movie. I’ll never forget the look her on face when she opened the DVD. She burst into tears and I think it was the first time she had ever gotten emotional over something. Fausto asked her why she was crying and she said “because I’m so happy!!”
I’m hoping to top that Christmas this year. She has been asking us for a Nintendo DS for about 2 years now. It started with her birthday then Christmas then when it didn’t happen she started asking all over again the following year… and again this year. Fausto and I have made it very clear that there is no way no how she is ever getting a DS. Mostly it was him, I would have caved 2 years ago but he didn’t want the kids having yet another piece of technology when they already have the Wii and their own computers. The other day when we were shopping we saw some DS games by the checkout counter and Lili was positively drooling. She mentioned in a very sorrowful voice “whoever has a DS is sooooooo lucky.”
I thought when I mentioned to Fausto this year that I thought this would be a good present for her, I would get push back but instead he said he’d been giving it a lot of thought and he too thought she was ready. Next question… what to get Danny. No question, Danny gets one too!! I could not believe my ears talking to Fausto.
I found a super deal online, DS lite with starter kit +2 games. I bought one in Pink and one in Blue, how cliché of me! They arrived at my work today and now I am positively drooling over them!! They are pretty awesome little toys.
